    “In early October Peter’s mom Karol suggested that we enter the “Dream Wedding Contest” through the Orange County Register. With nothing to lose we submitted a profile and picture that day. Initially, we struggled to gain the support of our weary friends and family, but as the contest progressed we gained momentum and we were getting hundreds of votes per day (even from strangers). Before we knew it we were in the 2nd round and among 10 couples eligible to win. At that point the idea of winning such an amazing prize continued to seem out of reach. Every day we would read the list of prizes the winning couple would receive. We would fantasize about how extravagant the wedding day would be and how great it would be to escape to the beautiful beach resort in Cabo.
