I live in the United States and am unsure about the legal requirements for getting married in Mexico. Can you explain?

For a wedding in Mexico to be considered legal in the United States, you must provide the following paperwork:
Application for Marriage (can be e-mailed to you from the resort) Birth certificates of the Bride and Groom (an original and copy of each) Passports for the Bride, Groom and four witnesses (the original to show and a copy for the Judge) Medical Certificate (specifics can be e-mailed to you from the resort) If applicable: divorce decree (only the first and last page. A copy is sufficient, original is not needed)

 

I'm not sure about the size of my wedding. Are there different areas of the resort that fit different size weddings?

Cabo Azul Resort can expertly manage weddings as small as just the Bride and Groom up to 150 people. The resort maintains several venues, from the intimate surroundings of our Penthouse Villas, El Corazon our spectacular five-story wedding chapel, Javier's Cantina and Grill, or even the beach, all with breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez

 

The open-air chapel looks incredible, but we have a lot of family and friends who may attend. How many people can the chapel accommodate and is there a reception space within the chapel area?

El Corazon, our five-story wedding chapel is the centerpiece of Cabo Azul Resort. Up to 150 guests can comfortably witness your ceremony from within the chapel. Currently, receptions are held in other areas within the resort, but we anticipate the opening of El Cielo, a roof-top reception venue above El Corazon in the Spring of 2010

 

How much advance notice do you need if I want to have my wedding at Cabo Azul?

The answer to this question can vary depending upon what month you wish to be married. The Spring months (April, June) and the Autumn months (October, December) are quite busy and will require a longer lead time to secure a date. I would look at 8-18 months advance planning for those busier times. During less popular months, 4-6 months in advance should be sufficient
